The Coalition of Skin Diseases (CSD) is the largest group of skin disease patient advocacy organizations in the United States. Its goal is to make sure people with dermatological diseases and skin traumas get the care they need to lead healthier and productive lives.
CSD partners with patient advocacy groups, professional associations, and industry stakeholders with similar missions to:
- Foster education and awareness of skin diseases and disorders,
- Advocate for access to appropriate and quality health care and treatments,
- Contribute to burden and related skin disease research, and
- Strengthen dermatologic patient advocacy organizations through the sharing of resources
The Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation has a long history with the Coalition of Skin Diseases. The Foundation joined the organization when it was still known as the Coalition of Patient Advocates for Skin Disease Research and attended its 2001 legislative day on Capitol Hill. We have members of CSD and engaged with its mission and legislative efforts ever since.
Members of the Cutaneous Lymphoma staff have also held leadership positions on the CSD's Board of Directors and committees. Foundation founder, Judy Jones, held the position of CSD board president for many years. Susan Thornton has served as their vice-president, and Holly Priebe, COFO, has served as their treasurer and is currently vice-president.
Capitol Hill Day
The Coalition's annual event providing member organizations, along with the patients and their families they serve, come together to advocate on behalf of the millions of Americans living with a skin disease.
Development Days
Development Days are an opportunity for CSD members to learn from each other and be inspired, to network and share valuable resources to enhance the work they do for their patient communities.
