Ways to Give
Bequests
A charitable bequest is one of the easiest ways that you can designate a planned gift to the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation.
In addition to knowing that your gift will help thousands of people affected by cutaneous lymphoma for years to come, you will enjoy many benefits including:
- Your bequest is not payable until your passing so it does not affect your assets or cash flow during your lifetime.
- Your gift can include cash, securities, real estate or other personal property.
- Your estate may be entitled to benefit from an estate tax charitable deduction for the gift’s full value.
- You can designate specific assets, leave a specific percentage of your estate or choose from other bequest options described below.
- It is private – your will is not filed or made public until your passing.
- Your gift entitles you to membership within The Legacy Circle.
Types of Bequests
| Specific | In this type of bequest, you name the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation as the beneficiary of specific assets including cash, property, life insurance policies or other assets. |
| Percentage | In this type of bequest, the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation receives a designated percentage of your estate. Because many people do not know what the net proceeds of their estate will be, this may be the best option for many individuals. |
| Residuary | In this type of bequest, you designate the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation to receive all or a portion of assets after specific gifts for your heirs have been fulfilled. |
| Contingent | In this type of bequest, you designate the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation to receive all or a portion of assets if your named beneficiaries do not survive you. |
Bequest Language
Legal documents such as wills should be prepared by attorneys. The following language is offered for the use of attorneys preparing wills containing bequests for the benefit of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation:
Specific Bequest
"I, [name], of [city, state, zip code], give, devise, and bequeath to the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation located in Birmingham, MI the sum of/percentage of [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use.”
