The Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation enjoyed an outstanding second annual 2-Day Cutaneous Lymphoma Patient Conference in Kansas City. The agenda was packed with clinical presentations by local cutaneous lymphoma specialists as well as the medical professionals who serve on our Board of Directors. Topics ranged from diagnosis to research, and featured a popular session on practical skin care. Breakout Q&A sessions are always a popular part of our events, providing attendees an opportunity to ask the physicians questions directly.
In addition to the clinical information, several individuals who have cutaneous lymphoma shared their personal stories of diagnosis, treatment and the daily living with the disease. Many attendees comment that hearing from and meeting other patients is a favorite part of the conference.
Saturday evening's cocktail reception and silent auction was an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy good food, company and friendly bidding competition. The Foundation benefited from the generosity of those who donated auction items, as diverse as artwork to cleaning products to an African safari, and from those who bid on them.
Next year's 2-Day Patient Conference will be held in San Diego, California. We hope to you there!
"This was a wonderful 2-day event...(The) patient stories and cocktail party (were) great to meet and exchange ideas."
"...This was our first conference, the content and time to visit was perfect. We will likely attend another conference....(it was helpful to) meet others and the diversity of presentations from the technical presentations, to funny stories, to the presentations about skin care. We met so many awesome people (patients, caregivers, CLF staff and others)."
"...(what was most helpful) was talking to other patients who have gone through the same treatments. The breakout sessions with doctors and the breakout sessions for Caregivers. Hearing the personal stories of the patients was encouraging and inspirational..."
"...i will never forget looking out at the room and 'Seeing' others like me..it was a beautiful thing to 'see' i was not Alone or the Only One. we all made 'friends' ...we were a Group~~ and that refortified the 'US'."
