The Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation held our first 2-Day Cutaneous Lymphoma Patient Conference on Saturday and Sunday, June 29 - 30, 2013. Attendees from all over the continent gathered and were informed, educated and reassured by cutaneous lymphoma experts during Saturday's clinical presentations.
Those who stayed through Sunday heard motivational speakers who had overcome great personal and medical challenges. Smaller group sessions in integrative medicine, nutrition and insurance were met with enthusiasm and were a popular addition to the conference.
Attendees, including patients, caregivers, CLF staff and board members, and pharmaceutical representatives enjoyed socializing during Saturday night's reception and silent auction. It was a wonderful first, new friends and contacts being made while enjoying the very pleasant ACE Conference Center lounge and patio areas until late in the evening. Participants left the event with new friends and information.
It was great to have the alternative medical and nutrition information...(it gave a) break from heavy clinical information...
What was most helpful was...time to talk to other mycosis fungoides patiens and learn about their treatment experiences, and what doctors they have and are being treated by...
I absolutely loved this conference. It enriched my life.
Loved the physicians presentations but the inspirational speakers were also wonderful.
I really liked hearing about the journey that the speakers shared. I really came away with the idea that each journey in this disease is very individual...I like the way the professionals (e.g. doctors) share in the journey of their patients. It really feels like "We're all in this together!"
