Michael W. Young

Board member since 2002

Michael is Vice President, Alliance Management, at Pharmaceutical Product Development, Inc. (PPD) where his team’s mission is to help drug discovery companies accelerate the development of new medicines. PPD is a leading global contract research organization, which has been involved in drug discovery, drug and device development and pharmaceutical life cycle management services for over 25 years with hundreds of companies around the world. 

Michael has been a board member of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Foundation since 2002 and currently serves on its Board Governance and Development Committees.

In 2001, he was named Medical Marketer of the Year by the Medical Marketing Association and in 2003 served as President of the national organization. In 2004 he was awarded the Leadership Award by Ligand Pharmaceuticals for the second time in three years and, in 2005, was recognized by the International Society for Cutaneous Lymphomas (ISCL) for his industry-leading work with the organization. He also serves on several formal committees within the US Cutaneous Lymphoma Consortium (USCLC).

Among his credentials, Michael has been an active industry speaker and author. He has presented at numerous conferences including The Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP), the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Chinese American Pharmaceutical Association, and the Drug Information Association (DIA).

Michael and his family live in San Diego, CA.
