Cutaneous lymphomas affect thousands of individuals worldwide.

Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) affects over 30,000 in the United States and Canada. The incidence of CTCL is increasing in the United States with approximately 3,000 new cases being diagnosed annually.  Due to the difficulty in diagnosing CTCL in its early stages and reporting system inaccuracies, these figures are estimates.

Patterns in the distribution of cutaneous lymphoma include:

• A greater frequency of CTCL among men than women
• A diagnosis is more common after the age of 50
